THE STORY BEHIND BRAVE SOUL &CO.
Brave Soul and Company exists for women like me—women who have felt lost in their own story.
Over five years ago, I found myself in a place I never thought I’d be. Depressed. Hopeless. Struggling to recognize the woman in the mirror. The strong, joyful, persistent version of me had faded, and I couldn’t even trace when or how it happened. I just knew I was drowning in the weight of it all.
Journaling didn’t just help me survive. It helped me rebuild.
Art became my escape. I got lost in the rhythm of color, the beauty of shape. And then there was journaling—the one place where I could be completely unfiltered. No pretending. No performing. Just me, my thoughts, and the pages that held them.
At first, it was just a release—getting the heaviness out of my head and onto paper. But somewhere along the way, those pages became a mirror, reflecting back the pieces of me I thought were gone. I started to see myself again. And not just the version that had been lost—but a version that was growing, healing, evolving.
Every blank page is an invitation—to dream, to vent, to heal, to pray, to think, to create. Each one is a step toward self-discovery, acceptance, and transformation.
That’s why Brave Soul and Company exists. Because I know what it’s like to need a space to process, to breathe, to be. And I want to share that space with you.
So, welcome. You’re in good company here. Let’s grow together.
Sis, Here’s Why Journaling is a Game-Changer for Us
Journaling isn’t just about writing—it’s about releasing, healing, and stepping into your power. As BIPOC women, we hold so much—our stories, our dreams, our struggles—and we deserve a space to unpack it all. Here’s why putting pen to paper can be a life-changing ritual:
-
A space to be real
Learn moreNo code-switching. No filters. Just you, your thoughts, and the freedom to say exactly how you feel. Your journal is your space to show up as your whole self—raw, honest, and unfiltered.
-
A love letter to yourself
Learn moreYou deserve to be poured into—by you. Journaling reminds you of your worth, your beauty, and your growth. It’s a way to show up for yourself, even on the days you forget how dope you are.
-
A place to heal
Learn moreLife gets heavy, sis. Journaling helps you process the tough stuff—whether it’s past wounds, daily stress, or just figuring out what’s next. Writing it out is a powerful way to let go and make room for peace.
